TEYCO PRODUCED the 9 rotating columns for the main stage of this concert.
Each triangular-based column needed rotate about its own centre point, independent yet in coordination with the other eight columns.
The concept was developed by Franco Comanducci of "La Diligenza" who wanted to create a rotating backdrop to the stage, so that lighting and video teams could switch visual effects throughout the concert.
The 3 backdrop elements, one on each face of the columns, were a simple fabric screen, a wall of moving light heads, and a LED screen that joined up with the two lateral LED screens at stage left and right. These elements could also be interchanged and mixed between columns, in which case, the transparency of the walls would also be exploited.
